Frontline Leadership Credentialing Program
The Frontline Leadership Credentialing program addresses the workforce demands of emerging leaders. This program focuses on leadership skills any new manager will need to succeed in the current workforce.
The program includes trainings on emotional intelligence, change management, diversity, equity & inclusion, personal branding, communication, and additional core leadership skills.
This 8-week credentialing program leads to a collaborative non-credit certificate from HACC, Central PA’s Community College; and Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.
The program includes 32 hours of live, virtual instruction, 4-8 hours of online modules, and additional experiential activities to develop essential employability skills for frontline leaders with an employer-driven curriculum focused on creating a management/leadership career pathway through each company.
What
An 8-week virtual course which helps future and current leaders develop skills in interpersonal communication, multiculturalism, and technical leadership skills.
Dates
Spring 2025 cohorts start February 5th and February 20th
Fall 2025 cohort starts September 10th
Time
Cohorts offered Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm (lunch break included), for eight weeks.
4 hours of asynchronous learning.
Registration
This program requires employees to be sponsored by their employer. Individuals signing up should talk with their employer before registering.

Course Objectives
- Obtain and improve multiple industry-wide foundational skills, including interpersonal skills, communication, integrity, math and technology, writing, teamwork, problem-solving and critical thinking, and customer focus.
- Develop an inclusive leadership style and approach that fits their abilities and workplace context.
- Understand a leader’s role in equity and inclusion and sustainable business practices.
- Gain specific knowledge and skill sets needed to be successful in their specific area of leadership, including detail orientation, scheduling, and systems thinking.
- Develop conflict resolution skills and understand your specific conflict management style
- Understand and be able to adapt to changes in technology in the workplace
- Be able to communicate effectively with team members
Shippensburg University was awarded a $275,000 grant from the US
Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration in support of
its South-Central Career Development and Readiness Initiative. Parts of this
program are supported by federal funds.
