Resources for Educators
Act 48
Act 48 of 1999 requires all Pennsylvania educators holding Pennsylvania public school certification to participate in ongoing professional education. Shippensburg University’s Office of Workforce Development offers many training courses that fulfill that requirement.

General Resources
The Office of Workforce Development offers unique opportunities for faculty and staff to teach material they are passionate about to a wider audience. Our office is committed to serving the non-traditional learner through programs that fit within their budget and lifestyle needs. This provides greater opportunities for you to create new projects, redesign current ones and join us in existing projects. OWD offerings include providing noncredit courses, customized workforce training, and exploring new ways of doing traditional programs.
Call to Faculty
The Office of Workforce Development values the expertise and knowledge of SU’s faculty and appreciates the opportunity to work with you on our noncredit courses and training opportunities. We would like to invite you to partner with us as we continue to grow our noncredit workforce development opportunities to meet regional workforce needs.
